Do I need my own AI API key?

Yes. AgentOSS connects to OpenAI or OpenRouter using your key, so you control model choice and usage costs directly with the provider. Keys are encrypted and never shown again after saving.

What counts as a conversation?

A conversation is one new chat session started by a visitor in your widget. All the messages inside it — including when your team joins live — count as a single conversation. Limits reset on the first day of each month.

What happens when I reach a plan limit?

Existing conversations keep working. New chats pause until the next month once the conversation limit is reached, and adding sources or website crawls is blocked until you remove one or upgrade. Your dashboard shows usage so there are no surprises.

Which content can the agent learn from?

Plain text, PDF documents (text-based, up to 100 pages), Markdown files, and public HTTPS websites on domains you’ve connected. Each source is indexed for search and cited in answers.

Can my team take over a conversation?

Yes. Escalation rules flag conversations that need a person and notify your team. Anyone in the workspace can join live, reply as themselves, and release the conversation back to the AI.

How do upgrades work?

Every workspace starts on the Free plan. To move to a paid plan, choose it on the pricing page after signing up and our team activates it on your workspace — self-serve card billing is coming soon.
